WHAT DOES THE TERM "TEAM" MEAN?
I.
What does this clip show about teamwork?
This clip shows that a
team is about knowing your personal strengths and how those can work with the
strengths of others. A team is about working together to accomplish a goal. A
coach should always motivate and give the team confidence. A coach should never
be selfish and constantly yell or put down the players. Teams that find success end up finding a way to come
together through great leadership love of the game, fighting for a common goal
or even through a shared prayer. Lastly, the power of words motivates the power
of thought. What a person thinks triggers who and what they will become.
The Team is a family. As a family, everyone must look out
for each other. Trust is vital in each team. It is important to understand
everyone’s role on the team and how everyone’s strength will complement each
other. The presence of effective collaboration and communication in a team
leads to success.
III.
How did she motivate him?
She motivated him by giving him confidence. She told him that he is able
to achieve a lot in the team when he realizes his own strength. She also gave
him instances where he protected the people he loved. For example, when Michael
and his brother got into a car accident, the airbag almost hit the boy right in
the face, but Michael put his arm in front of the airbag, protecting the boy. A
team doesn’t only about know your personal strengths; it is about trusting the
strengths of others as well. She reminded him to persevere. She did not yell at
him.
IV. Why does yelling or making fun of others not work as a way to
motivate team members?
If a coach yells and mocks the
team players, the players may get discouraged from playing their best.
Be their cheerleader. You should talk to them in an
encouraging way. Relate to the team members if you want them to do their best.
